KAIST is an international institution with all instruction in English for both undergraduate and graduate studies. The University’s 400-strong faculty conducts internationally recognized research in cooperation with academic institutions and industries all over the world. The University has in recent years been recruiting distinguished scholars from overseas.

KAIST Information Communications College (KAIST ICC)--formally known as ICU--
Founded by a collation of the Ministry of Information and Communication, ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) and leading Korean IT companies such as SK and Samsung in 1997, KAIST ICC added an undergraduate program in 2002 and has continued to expand its global presence. The Samsung Joint Research Center is the only such program run by Samsung Electronics with a university in Korea. The program is run in English and attracts considerable numbers of foreign students. KAIST ICC was merged with KAIST in 2008.

As a national university with a history of 56 years, Chungnam National University has considerable stature in Korea and remarkable strengths in biotechnology and medicine, agriculture, law, international relations and business.
